On the occasion of ART CITY and Arte Fiera, from 4 to 9 February 2026, the Cineteca di Bologna presents a program exploring the fertile intersections between cinema and art.
From the graffiti of Geco, balancing action and transgression, to the total work of Galeazzo Nardini and his “Arte sciopero”; from the intimate and socially engaged shots of Mimmo and Francesco Jodice to the striking images of Oliviero Toscani; from the poetic memory of objects by Robert Kuśmirowski to the visionary and irreverent world of Bonvi.
Animated films and documentaries reveal new nuances of iconic voices such as Frida Kahlo and Thomas Kinkade, while radical experiments capture the gaze and obsessions of masters like Andy Warhol and Goya. For a few lucky visitors, there is the opportunity to ‘enter’ the performance of the Italo-Eritrean artist Muna Mussie, navigating colonial ghosts and the challenges of AI.
At the Galleria Modernissimo, from 4 February, the exhibition Li ho visti displays a wide selection of original sketches of the posters created by the Bolognese designer Stefano Ricci for the first year of the Cinema Modernissimo.
Free admission to the exhibition is available for attendees of the Art City screenings at the Modernissimo.
