On Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1, at the ITC Theatre, the performance Sonate Bach – In the Face of the Pain of Others takes the stage.
Eleven choreographies inspired by as many contemporary tragedies — from Sarajevo to Gaza — shape a danced ceremony on civil suffering in conflicts. Bach’s sonatas accompany gestures that become memory, compassion, and resistance, weaving together dance, photography, and the human body. For the first time at the ITC Theatre, a work by Virgilio Sieni that sublimates tragedy through art, transforming it into a shared experience suspended between the human and the sacred.
Following the performance, on Saturday: Wars and Peaces
Virgilio Sieni engages in conversation with Azzurra Meringolo (war correspondent for Rai Radio News and lecturer in Arab media at the journalism master's programs in Bologna and Roma Tre) and local youth; moderated by Oliviero Ponte di Pino / Ateatro.
A dialogue on current and forgotten wars, but also on possible "peaces" — that is, all the actions from the worlds of culture, education, and civil society that contribute to a different quality of relationships between individuals and peoples.
