“Music Roots” is the film festival sponsored by the Cineteca di Bologna and curated by Roy Menarini, film critic and university professor, with music as leitmotif of the proposal, scheduled every Thursday evening in August at 10 p.m. at Fienile Fluò,, in the bolognesi hills.
The program Thursday 4th August "Motel Woodstock" (2009) by Ang Lee: the incredible story of Elliot Tiber, American artist, screenwriter and writer, one of the “fathers” of the legendary Woodstock festival.
Thursday 11th August
"Quadrophenia" by Franc Roddam (1979), taken from the homonymous album by the Who, who were its producers.
Thursday 18th August "Mo’ Better Blues "by Spike Lee (1990): a film about jazz told from the inside, with Denzel Washington as trumpeter Bleek Gilliam.
Thursday 25 August “Last night in Soho” by Edgar Wright (2021): a hybrid of horror, thriller and psychological drama set in the legendary Swingin London of the Sixties.
Admission to individual screenings is € 5, with the option to purchase SN22 Visions, an access booklet to all 4 films on the bill at a cost of € 15.
