Luca Argentero brings to the stage È questa la vita che sognavo da bambino?, an intense and surprising performance that blends theatrical storytelling, music, and collective memory. Written by Gianni Corsi, Luca Argentero, and Edoardo Leo—who also directs it—with original music by Davide Cavuti, the show will be staged on Friday 22 May 2026 at 9:00 PM at the Teatro EuropAuditorium.
Through the lives of Luisin Malabrocca, Walter Bonatti, and Alberto Tomba, three icons of Italian sport, Argentero takes the audience on a human and social journey across different eras, dreams, and contradictions of Italian society. Three very different stories, told not only through sporting achievements but above all for what they represent: failure transformed into redemption, solitude as a search for truth, and talent as the symbol of an entire generation.
Malabrocca, the “inventor” of the Black Jersey, the ultimate anti-hero of an Italy marked by post-war hardship; Bonatti, the mountaineer who on K2 discovers that the most dangerous enemy can be man himself; Tomba, the champion able to bring Sanremo to a halt and embody the carefree energy of the 1980s. Three paths that speak of success, setbacks, fame, and identity.
Is this the life I dreamed of as a child? is a profound yet ironic reflection on what it means to become a hero, on the price of dreams, and on what remains when the spotlight fades. A performance that moves, makes you smile, and invites introspection.
