As an artist dear to Emilia Romagna Teatro Fondazione, Delbono is able, like few others, to create works taking suggestions from experienced life moments and daily chronicles that are filled with contrasts. “ I chose to entitle my new play La gioia, declares Delbono, because in my opinion, it is a word that at the same time has the ability to scare off, suggest fear, and evoke images of apparent happiness and wellness. And at a closer look, it can also express a sense of fighting, pain, suffering and also clarity of thought and awareness. I will proceed in this work by means of subtraction. I think it is essential. And by intervening on the overall theatrical structure, I will return to a radical way of working on a kind of theatre, that brings me back to the origins, to that educational path I undertook in Danmark. I like to think at theatre as a ritual, and my wish is to accomplish it with my company, a group that has accompanied me for more than 20 years. The ticket office is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 2pm and from 4,30pm to 7pm. For the performances scheduled at Arena del Sole, the ticket office is open also one hour before the starting of the performance.
