Saturday May 2, 2026, at 9:00 PM at the Teatro Comunale in Castiglione dei Pepoli (BO), the play The Name will be staged.
Based on the play by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellière, the story unfolds during a dinner among friends at the home of the couple Piero and Elisabetta. Freely adapted, the comedy is set in present-day Bologna and develops through contrasting and opposing dynamics that intertwine friendships and family relationships. The Name is a work of much broader scope than it may seem at first glance.
A complete, ironic, and sarcastic play that offers a bleak snapshot of society, starting—circularly—from the internal issues of the primary social unit, the family, moving through the broader systems of society and history, and finally returning to its starting point: the family.
