Il male dei ricci | Teatro Arena del Sole

From Wednesday, May 6 to Friday, May 8 2026, at the Teatro Arena del Sole in Bologna, the show Il male dei ricci, written and performed by Fabrizio Gifuni, will be staged.

Fabrizio Gifuni returns to the pages of Pier Paolo Pasolini with a new original dramaturgy: the reinterpretation of Ragazzi di vita – the writer’s debut novel – interwoven and historicized with other Pasolini texts (poems, letters, editorials, interviews) – gives life to a deeply personal narrative that the actor-author brings to the stage, engaging each evening with representatives of the city, the so-called spectators, in a play of unprecedented perspectives and vertiginous doublings.

The actor takes on the task of leading us into the daily lives of these young boys, returning their generosity and their selfishness, the comic, the tragic, the grotesque, and the violence of this human swarm moving from the outskirts toward the city center, in a journey that is also a rite of passage from childhood to early youth. At the same time, Gifuni’s body/voice compels us to confront a poetic ghost, a restless voice that continues to demand to be heard. Still today, in a stubborn and contrary direction.
