On Thursday May 14, 2026, at 9:00 PM at the Teatro Dehon, Filippo Giardina will perform his show The Banality of Good.
The Banality of Good is an uncomfortable and provocative title, just like Filippo Giardina’s satire: direct, irreverent, and capable of turning seemingly trivial truths into triggers for critical thought. The show, produced by Show Bees in collaboration with Talento, features Giardina as a sharp and incisive author who digs into the contradictions of our time, transforming irony into a tool for social inquiry.
The title echoes—and overturns—that of the famous essay by Hannah Arendt, immediately revealing the stand-up comedian’s intent: to confront the complexity of today through the power of satire, the only possible tool for not succumbing to the paradoxes of reality, without giving up the lightness of laughter.
The monologue offers a lucid and uncompromising взгляд at the present, a journey into the dissonances of a civilization that seems to have lost its very sense of proportion. It explores a world in which violence fascinates more than peace, arrogance disguises itself as awareness, and individualism masks loneliness. With his usual ability to blend thought and provocation, Filippo Giardina examines the infantilism of a Western society that believes itself free while remaining trapped by its own algorithms and egos. A world that shouts to exist but does not listen; that preaches good but does not practice it. With his unmistakable approach, Giardina laughs at tragedy in order to make it recognizable, transforming the decay of contemporary reality into material that is both comic and reflective. Because, as always in his satire, laughter does not console: it exposes.
