Saturday, November 15, 2025, at DAMSLab/Teatro, at 6:00 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., An Echo, A Wave by Philippe Kratz (CCN/Aterballetto) takes the stage.
There is probably no view quite like that of the sea that can come close to explaining the elusive concept of eternity. By observing its seemingly infinite blue surface, we grasp how fleeting we are, how small and limited — like the proverbial drops in an ocean.
The sea is a place of wonder, of dreams and promises, with an overwhelming beauty that brings a deep sense of calm. It hypnotizes us, absorbs us, and can fill us with spiritual awe.
Watching the flowing movement of a dancer, we sometimes rediscover that same natural, continuous motion of the ocean’s surface. And when two people dance together, they always pass through shifting states of mind — conflicting emotions, closeness and distance.
Starting from these suggestions, Philippe Kratz has created a duet for CCN / Aterballetto, the company he considers his first home. He worked there for years as both dancer and choreographer before embarking on an international career as a choreographer.
