Boston By Way

Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Villaggio della Salute Più (Via Sillaro 27, Monterenzio - BO), the event Boston By Way takes place, dedicated to the memory of the Second World War in the Sillaro Valley area.

The event, organised by the cultural association La Linea del Tempo, takes its name from the Boston By Way, a road built by the Allies during the conflict to connect the valley floor to the front line, now known as Via Calvanella and located a short distance from the event venue. For the occasion, the event area will be transformed into an open-air museum.

The programme features a wide exhibition route with historical re-enactment groups wearing period uniforms and equipment; exhibitions and dynamic demonstrations of historic military vehicles, including rare models; opening of the Museum of the Gothic Line in Our Lands; an exhibition of static military modelling curated by the Gruppo Modellistico Bolognese; and screenings of original archival footage organised by the Senio River 1944-1945 Association, as part of the “Italian Victory” programme.

The event aims to promote and recount the local area and its memory through various educational and in-depth activities designed for the public.
