Bologna
The National Basketball Association (NBA) arrives in Bologna with the Selection Camp for the Jr. NBA Global Championship Europe and Middle East. The camp lasts a week and its purpose is to choose 10 boys and 10 girls among the best talented to represent the region at the second annual Jr. NBA Global Championship, which will take place between 6th and 11th August 2019 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. The Selection Camp will be held at the CUSB (Centro Universitario Sportivo Bologna) in Bologna, Italy, between 30th April and 4th May and will be conducted by the NBA Basketball Operations staff and by Jr. NBA League coaches. Former NBA player and champion Boris Diaw (France) and USA Basketball Director of Youth & Sport Development Don Showalter will take part. Vladimir Radmanovic and Marko Mili, former NBA players and NBA Ambassadors for Europe, will also take part. 60 participants from 24 European and Middle Eastern countries between 13 and 14 guided by over 20 coaches will face each other to play in the European and Middle Eastern male and female teams at the Jr. NBA Global Championship in Orlando. The final event when the best 20 talented players will be selected will be held on Friday 3rd between 4 pm and 6.30 pm at PalaDozza (free entry, doors open at 3 pm).
