The "solo piano" is a fascinating formula but not without risks and for a pianist, even more so if he is young, facing it is a demonstration of self-confidence. Enrico Zanisi can afford this challenge. His first and only solo piano record, Piano Tales, was recorded six years ago, at the age of 25, demonstrating convincing maturity. Three years earlier (2012) he had already won the Jazz Top Jazz Music for Best New Talent. He sterted to study classical music but soon the open and creative approach to music inevitably made him swerve, with the support of his parents, towards jazz even if his first love was rock. The turning point came with the seminars in Siena: «I had no doubts, I would have been a jazz player and stop with power metal!». His career as a jazzman developed fastly, he collaborated with Sheila Jordan, David Liebman, Andy Sheppard, Francesco Cafiso, Roberta Gambarini, Stefano Di Battista and many others. «Each of them - says Zanisi - stimulated me to study and to look for a personal formula of the musical expression, with the most sincere humility and the great passion possible».
