"Merchant City Festivals", Voodoo Sound Club in Glasgow
On August 3th the music of Voodoo Sound Club will represent Bologna and Italy in Glasgow on occasion of "Merchant City Festivals". Glasgow is one of five "Unesco Creative Cities of Music” together with Bologna, Siviglia, Gent and Bogotà. To celebrate this event, Glasgow has invited a selection of bands from these cities to take part in the final concert of the "Merchant City Festivals".
The Voodoo Sound Club from Bologna will perform with their mix of jazz, funk, afrobeat and psychedelic music, the Rhythm Junks will come from Gent, La Suite Bizarre from Siviglia. The festival celebrates its XIth edition with 300 events including music, dance, theater, street art, design, cinema, visual arts in the heart of the charming historic center of Glasgow, with several world premieres. Voodoo Sound Club is formed in Bologna in 2007 from an idea by William Pagnozzi. The band: William Pagnozzi (sax, voice, keyboards), Danilo Mineo (percussion), Lazzaro Piccolo (guitar), Salvatore Lauriola aka Messico (bass), Gaetano Alfonsi (drums), Reda Zine (voice and guitar).
