Villa Sampieri Talon lends its name to Parco Talon, also known as the Parco della Chiusa (Sluice Park).
It was built in the 18th century by the Sampieri family and immediately became a sophisticated centre for cultural meetings. In fact it welcomed renowned musicians such as Donizzetti and Rossini who performed concerts there, as well as writers such as Stendhal who took inspiration for his novels from the location.
