Tartufesta is the traditional festival held each year in October and November thoughout the Bolognese Apennine towns with markets, exquisite cuisine and events focused on the ‘fine white truffle of the Bolognese hills’.
Every year locals welcome thousands of visitors to enjoy the Appennine’s landscape, culture and of course, food and wine. This area’s most precious product, the white truffle of the Bologna hills, is the main character of the festival’s many events: street markets, wine and food tasting by producers, exhibitions, food stands, truffle dog competitions, conventions and themed meetings. It’s a memorable weekend for visitors among the scents and flavours of this territory.
The initiative, coordinated and promoted by Città Metropolitana di Bologna, takes place in 13 towns of the Bolognese Appennines: Camugnano (a nationally recognized 'Truffle City'), Castel di Casio (Truffle City), Castiglione dei Pepoli, Grizzana Morandi, Lizzano in Belvedere, Loiano, Monghidoro, Monzuno, Pianoro, San Benedetto Val di Sambro, Sasso Marconi, Valsamoggia (Truffle City) and Vergato.
