July's Wednesdays are the occasion to listen to some of the most interesting Italian jazz bands in the timeless atmosphere of the 15th century village of Selva Malvezzi, in the nearby of Molinella. The four jazz concerts take place beneath the summer sky in the central square of the old town, surrounded by ancient and fascinating buildings. The programme includes: Jimmy Villotti Quintet (Wed July 5), Darryl Hall Trio (Wed July 12), Giulia Lorvich All Stars (Wed July 19) and Old Wine New Bottles (Wed July 26). The artistic direction of the festival is by Jimmy Villotti, an Italian jazz player also known for his collaborations with many Italian musicians such as - among the others - Lucio Dalla, Gianni Morandi and Paolo Conte. Selva Malvezzi also hosts a traditional restaurant, where is possible to have an aperitivo or dine with local dishes, also re-interpreted.
