The exhibition at Museo Morandi recreates the etching process of Giorgio Morandi’s print works, testifying to the great attention of the famous Bologna artist in dealing with this technique.
A selection of fourteen plates - on loan from Calcografia romana, are placed just near the corresponding prints - mainly belonging to the museum collection, from April 7 to June 26.
The exhibit also features the print “Morandi che legge” (Morandi while reading) by Carlo Alberto Petrucci, the notebook of print runs, some letters of the painter’s correspondence with Petrucci, and Morandi’s printing press.
Il segno inciso di Giorgio Morandi. Matrici e stampe a confronto in collaboration with l’Istituto Nazionale della Grafica di Roma, is part of the event programme for the 900th anniversary of Comune di Bologna foundation, Concives 1116 - 2016.
