Bologna
It is a work that tells a centennial tradition, which has its roots in the Middle Ages, and is traced back to the time of the Clerici Vagantes, groups of young religious who used to move between the major Germanic and French academies to follow lessons of the most illustrious university teachers. An irreverent and at the same time mystical tradition, whose rituals have been handed down by generations of students but have always been kept secret and inaccessible to the eyes of non-adepts. A fascinating reportage, which took the author around Europe in search of these groups still alive in many university cities. Although with different traditions and names, the various groups of Goliardi are all united by the same spirit: they are only different faces of the same coin. The exhibition consists of both photographs and video projections.
