The need of voiding some rooms of the Collezioni Comunali d’Arte in order to ease the renovation works concerning an area of Palazzo Comunale, is offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy a new set-up of the works, as well as different combinations from those usually proposed by the museum.
The exhibition CRETI, CANOVA, HAYEZ: la nascita del gusto moderno tra Sette e Ottocento nelle Collezioni Comunali d’Arte(CRETI, CANOVA, HAYEZ: the origin of the modern style between the 18th and the 19th century at the Collezioni Comunali d’Arte) features over 150 works from Collezioni Comunali d’Arte - some of them usually stored in the museum deposits (pastels and paintings by di Angelo Crescimbeni, Sebastiano Gamma and Coriolano Vighi), as well as some loans from Museo Archeologico, Museo Medievale, and MAMbo. The exhibition, organized by Musei Civici d’Arte Antica, develops inside the museum area, mainly in the Sala Urbana, in room 18 (where usually the 19th century works are located) and in three new rooms, once part of the museum itinerary and now returned to their prior use.
