With music by GIOACHINO ROSSINI Cinderella This exclusive version created by Giorgio Madia for the Ballet of Milan has been performed with great success since 2011. The production has won important international awards such as the prestigious Gold Critics Award. Cinderella has won over the hearts of thousands of spectators mostly for its brilliant mis-en-scene: from the initial backlight explaining how Cinderella came to live with her step-mother and sisters, the house furnishings identical to Cinderella’s clothes though highlight her status within the family, the carriage with dancing horses and absent-minded yet sensual fairy god-mother to the prince, who is naturally charming. The en-travesti Step-mother/Sitter trio is truly hilarious performing incredible gags from start to finish that attract inevitable mid-scene rounds of applause. The musical choice preferring Rossini to the usual Prokofiev is ingenious and in line with the show: with his lively, ironic and witty music, the composer from Pesaro is perfect to accompany the Perrault fairy-tale made up of carriages, horses and shoes.
