The three installations designed by Chiara Lecca for the rooms of the Collezioni Comunali d'Arte (Municipal Art Collections) of Palazzo d'Accursio will take visitors along a journey between reality and illusion, thanks to the unique artist’s ability to assemble organic elements of animal origin. A fior di pelle is the title of this project (January 20 - March 19, 2017) that stages a play between natural and fake effects where the controversial semiotic features of matter generate in the viewer a sense of estrangement with a touch of ironic fun.
As a matter of fact, we are forced to rethink our origins and to review the contemporary society-imposed divide between nature and men as well as the controversial nature of the opposition between wild instincts and rational attitude.
The exhibition, curated by Sabrina Samorì and Silvia Battistini is part of the fifth edition of ART CITY Bologna, an institutional program of exhibitions, events and cultural initiatives developed jointly by the City of Bologna and BolognaFiere. During Arte Fiera, it offers new opportunities to discover and learn about artistic heritage through a dialogue with contemporary art.
