Exhibitions dedicated to work and landscape of Emilia-Romagna featuring more than 200 pictures and about thirty photographic books about surroundings, settings and reality of the region. A short film played by Francesca Zerbetto and Dario Zanasi, Le radici dei sogni - L’Emilia-Romagna tra cinema e paesaggio.
Ceramica, latte, macchine e logistica – Fotografie dell'Emilia-Romagna al lavoro(Pottery, milk, machines and logistics – Photographs of Emilia-Romagna at work - Closing date extended to 25 September) is curated by Urs Stahel. Photos by important photographers lead visitors to a consideration on the economic and landscape development of Emilia-Romagna region in the last decades. The exhibitions at MAST develop the topic of Via Emilia characterizing the 11th edition of Fotografia Europea 2016, and giving a photographic representation of work, industry and economy.
Together with some images taken from the film Il deserto rosso (1964) by Michelangelo Antonioni, the photos become part of a story representing accurately the economic development of Emilia-Romagna and the current trasformation of the production system. Photos are by Enrico Pasquali, Gabriele Basilico, William Guerrieri, Paola De Pietri, Carlo Valsecchi, Tim Davis, John Gossage, Walter Niedermayr, Marco Zanta, Guido Guidi, Olivo Barbieri, Franco Vaccari, Lewis Baltz, Simone Donati. The exhibition itinerary also includes videos by Tim Davis and William Guerrieri.
As a side event at Level 0 at MAST, is the non-stop documentary film (last show at 5.30p.m.) Le radici dei sogni – L’Emilia-Romagna tra cinema e paesaggio (73 min.) filmed in 2015 by Francesca Zerbetto and Dario Zanasi. It is a journey through the region that has inspired many Italian and international film directors.
