Bologna Jazz Festival returns to entertain the public with an edition at full blast. The festival will feature five great concerts in the main theatres as well as performances by other large ensembles. Many different concerts in the program: from the first event with Fabrizio Bosso together with his quartet, the Paolo Silvestri Ensemble (a tribute to Duke Ellington particularly rich in wind instruments) and the unprecedented meeting between David Murray and the Tower Jazz Composers Orchestra, to the grand Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra featuring Cécile McLorin Salvant, the Afro-American vocalist who has relaunched the charm of jazz divas. The impressive cast of the SFJAZZ Collective, with eight renowned soloist part of a programme dedicated to the music of Antônio Carlos Jobim, and the “Blues on Bach: la musica di John Lewis” symphonic production with Enrico Pieranunzi and the Symphonic Orchestra of the “G. B. Martini” Music School in Bologna directed by Michele Corcella will complete the “Teoria dei grandi numeri”, which BJF 2018 is focused on. Bologna Jazz Festival is organised by Associazione Bologna in Musica with the help of Regione Emilia-Romagna, Comune di Bologna, Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna, Fondazione Carisbo, Gruppo Unipol, Città Metropolitana di Bologna, Bologna City of Music Unesco and of the main partner Gruppo Hera.
