BilBOlbul - International comics Festival curated by Hamelin, carries out a transformation that can be summarized with the slogan “one year of BilBOlbul, three days of festival”. Starting from this 11th edition BilBOlbul becomes an operating subject throughout the year, with different projects according to the target audience, acting on two fronts: the first one, constant and continual, dedicated to the formation of a young and adult audience; the second one focused on initiatives and cultural events declined time after time by vocation and typology.
A preview of the festival is scheduled on Thursday, November 23 starting from 6pm. A kind of White Night of the Comics during which many festival side exhibitions will be inaugurated.
From November 24 to 26, BilBOlbul 2017 will present a rich programme of events, exhibitions, performances, conferences, labs, all dedicated to the world of graphic novel. Among the leading events of this edition: the exhibition Jacovitti. Il teatrino perpetuo at Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna devoted to the surreal genus of Jacovitti, 20 years after his death; the exhibit Apparizioni/Sparizioni by Éric Lambé, winner of the Fauve D’or prize at Angoulême Festival in 2017; the emerging artist from the USA Conor Stechschulte with the exhibition The weight of water. At Accademia di Belle Arti the exhibition Mattotti. Primi lavori is still going on. The same location will also host the conference dedicated to Rodolphe Töpffer, a Swiss teacher who lived in the first half of the XIV century and recognized as one of the fathers of comics.
