He was the first French pianist to win the prestigious Tchaikovsky Prize, in 2019: Alexandre Kantorow knows how to browse with supreme agility through the early, romantic Brahms, still under Schumann’s wing, and the older one, canonized as Beethoven’s heir; from Liszt’s mundane Hungarian folklorism, to Bartok’s ironically quoted one.

Fauré’s Nocturne (1894) is one of the most widely known pages of the production of the French composer, in a balance between suffused lyricism and classic architectural perfection. The concert, in exclusive for Italy, will open the next edition of Pianofortissimo.
