Discover and taste traditional Emilia wines, far from the chaos and hustle and bustle of the city: a journey surrounded by nature and the rolling hills of Emilia, savouring the flavours of this land, which has always devoted itself to agriculture, grape farming and experiencing old traditions. From Lambrusco, the symbol of this land, to Pignoletto a local Bologna hill variety with ancient origin, which have been retrieved and appreciated in the past few years.
Arrival at the holiday farmhouse near Castelvetro, one of Italy’s “Wine cities”. Tour of the farm and of the state-of-the-art cellar in the farm and finally local production Lambrusco tasting, accompanied with finger food and local produce. For dinner, transfer to another well known holiday farm to sample some home cooking, washed down by locally produced wine, to plunge head-on in the local culinary tradition.
In the morning, transfer to Formigine, in the Modena hills, the natural haven where old traditions and flavours still thrive. Tour and tasting session at a cellar founded in the early XX century and recently turned into a modern company making precious wines, mainly Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC. In the afternoon, transfer to Monteveglio, with tour and tasting session at an historic cellar in the Bologna hills, boasting over half a century of traditional DOC wine production, specifically including Pignoletto.
