The Historic Carnival of San Giovanni in Persiceto, the oldest in Emilia-Romagna and one of the most important on a national level, celebrates its 145th edition on February 24 ("Spilli" Sunday) and March 3, 2019 (Sunday of the awards ceremony ) At the event participate in: - 11 allegorical wagons - 4 group masks - 2 single masks The peculiarity of the manifestation is the "Spillo", that is, the special effects through which the wagon undergoes a metamorphosis, a real transformation, which reveals and makes manifest its allegorical meaning, at first well hidden. The wagons are presented in the square camouflaged and here one by one are transformed almost completely, "opening up" and thus revealing their allegory. Through ingenious hidden mechanisms, new, new and bright colors, masks and characters appear, and the square becomes a theater! < For further information visit www.carnevalepersiceto.it
