The Talents cycle on Thursday 22 June presents the two protagonists of this concert, Giulia Rimonda and Josèf Mossali, as children of the new millennium. Giulia was born in 2002, a child of art, a pupil of Nikolaj Znaider, Salvatore Accardo and Sonig Tchakerian, a master of impeccable technique and a 'warm and powerful' sound; Josef, barely a year older, a pupil of Boris Petrushansky at the Imola Academy and winner of an impressive series of national competitions. Their programme reflects an aptitude for challenge, but also for reasoning: at the centre are two 'classic' late Romantic sonatas, Brahms and Grieg, in the frame two rhapsodic pieces such as Dvořák's Romantic Pieces and Ravel's virtuosic Tzigane.
