From 26 May to 24 September, at Palazzo Fava. Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Genus Bononiae presents "Viaggio verso l'ignoto" (Journey into the Unknown), an exhibition curated by Claudio Cerritelli and Gisella Vismara that sheds light on the complex and multifaceted figure of Lucio Saffaro (Trieste 1929 - Bologna 1998): painter, writer, poet and mathematician among the most original of Italian culture and art of the second half of the 20th century.
On the opening day of the exhibition, Friday 26 May, at 6 p.m., the Biblioteca di San Giorgio in Poggiale will host a conference by art historian Flavio Caroli focusing on the author's life and production. Thursday 15 June, again at 6 pm, will be followed by a meeting with mathematician Piergiorgio Odifreddi. The exhibition 'Journey into the Unknown' is a project of the Lucio Saffaro Foundation. It traces an itinerary through Lucio Saffaro's art, presenting 87 paintings and graphics among the artist's most significant works: 37 oils on canvas, 34 lithographs and 16 drawings, to offer an exhaustive overview of his research (1954-1997) starting from his youthful phase - the least known - up to his maturity, symbolised by the elegant and multifaceted forms that make his work unique.
