From 31 March to 28 January 2024, Palazzo Pallavicini in Bologna will be hosting a new exhibition dedicated to Banksy, with a view to safeguarding street art so that it can be studied and recognised for its important historical role. The visitor will be lost in a journey around the world among the artist's works in the most unexpected places: UK, France, USA, Australia, Mali and the Bethlehem Wall.
The exhibition traces the history and social appeal of Banksy's murals, leading the visitor to reflect in an underground dimension.
The exhibition includes over 30 life-size murals a long with iBanksy, a special video section chronicling the history and social message of the Bristol-based street artist's works on walls, streets and bridges from different geographies.
The works will be directly introducing the viewer to strong and socially challenging themes by combining a traditional exhibition narrative with a virtual segment: i-Banksy. Within The World of Banksy - The Immersive Experience, for the first time, the most iconic artworks of the mysterious street artist are brought to life thanks to short videos that tell the story and the underlying social critique of the murals around the world.
