Rotonda della Madonna del Monte

“Rotonda della Madonna del Monte” is a central plan church dating back to the 12th century. It is what remains of an ancient Benedictine monastery that belonged to Antonio Aldini.
When Napoleon went to Bologna, during a visit to the monastery of Madonna del Monte, he said that the view was breathtaking.
After many transfers of property, in 1938 Guido Zucchini started the reconstruction of the church. Thanks to him, nowadays it is possible to admire many fresco paintings from the 12th century.
