SS. Gregorio e Sirio
Church of Santi Gregorio e Siro
The Church of SS Gregorio e Sirio was built in the old town centre of Bologna in 1532-1535 by Tibaldo Tibaldi and Giov. Antonio di Milano. The church was damaged by an earthquake, and the façade and the vault were rebuilt by Angelo Venturoli. The coat of arms above the portal belongs to the Ghisilieri family who owned the houses where the church was built. The 13th century tower from the houses of the Ghisilieri family was transformed into the belltower in 1532.
Inside the church, you can admire works of art by Camillo Procaccini, Lucio Massari, Calvart, Calvi, and Carracci.
The description is taken from the guidebook Ricci Zucchini
