What better souvenir from Bologna than to be able to recreate a wonderful Italian meal back home? With us you can learn to make our delicious egg pasta just like nonna did; with a rolling pin on a wooden board. Or why not take a cooking lesson about risotto, potato gnocchi, Parmigiano Reggiano or Traditional Balsamic Vinegar?

You will feel right at home as you prepare a wonderful 4 course meal in one of our cozy homes. Not only will you learn about our region’s famous food products, but your lesson will be peppered with stories about Bologna, its people, cooking tips as well as gastronomic curiosities.

What is foreign will become familiar as you weave your way through old, narrow streets of the ancient market visiting different shops and stalls to learn about typical products and seasonal produce. Accompanied by your teacher, you will mingle with the locals to purchase the ingredients for our lesson.

Taste of Italy has been teaching Italian cooking lessons to novice, intermediate and professional students since 2007.

  • Our cooking classes are intentionally held in home settings, to make you feel Italian for a day.
  • Lessons are for 1 to 4 students (6 if you are friends, or family.) Groups over 6 need to reserve well in advance.
  • You will learn cooking techniques as well as receive individual attention.
  • All of our lessons are adapted to your level of experience, personal taste and the availability of fresh ingredients.
  • Our hands on classes can be held in English, Italian or Spanish.
  • At the end, you sit down to enjoy the 4 course meal you’ve prepared.
  • We can adapt our lessons vegetarians, gluten free, no pork, or no beef requests.
  • We offer advanced courses for advanced, or culinary professionals.
