TERREFERME. EMILIA 2012: THE CULTURAL HERITAGE AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE
19 December 2014 - 15 February 2015
Ex Chiesa di San Mattia

EXTENDED TO MARCH 29th, 2015

Terreferme documents the damage to the priceless cultural heritage of the Po Valley plain between Ferrara and Reggio Emilia caused by the earthquake in May 2012. Steeped in medieval and Renaissance history, the area was once the fiefdoms, or signorie, of several famous families: Pico from Mirandola, Pio from Carpi, Estensi from Ferrara and Gonzaga from Mantua. Not just an exhibition, Terreferme is a farreaching project designed to share data on the havoc wreaked and so enhances the effectiveness of safeguard action. More especially, Terreferme looks at the future since it is only by pooling knowledge that we can protect our ancient culture heritage.
