The exhibition features 135 works selected from the more than 800 pieces concerning the Sixties and Eighties included in Luciana Tabarroni's Twentieth Century European graphic art collection housed in the National Picture Gallery of Bologna.
The exhibition itinerary features styles, movements and innovations of artists coming from different nations that turned graphic art into a significant medium of expressing their activity.
The exhibition consists of four sections: Organicism and gestural art, Geometrism and movement, Pop Imagery, Different repetitions. The exhibition includes works of Jean Dubuffet, Alberto Burri, Karl Appel, Francis Bacon, Hans Hartung, Max Bill, Victor Vasalery, Roland Kitaj, Concetto Pozzati, Joe Tilson, Lucian Freud, and Jannis Kounellis.
Sessanta/Ottanta. La grande grafica europea alla Pinacoteca Nazionale di Bologna, curated by Silvia Grandi and Elena Rossoni, takes place at "Sale degli Incamminati" from 20 January to 17 April 2017 within ART CITY Bologna and Arte Fiera.
