Mark Kidel is a documentary filmmaker and writer specializing in visual and performing arts whose most recent work, Becoming Cary Grant (presented at Cannes 2017) has achieved a wide international echo. The review Voices from the afterlife produced by AngelicA, has already presented in the last years two documentaries, Something Rich And Strange - Portrait Of Contemporary Composer Iannis Xenakis, and Ravi Shankar: Between Two Worlds. This year, on the occasion of the 73rd birthday of Robert Wyatt, and the 2018 edition of ART CITY Bologna, AngelicA - Music Research Center in co-production with the Cineteca, invited the director to present three of his other films, two of which translated specifically and in national premiere: Free Will and Testament: The Robert Wyatt Story and two of his titles dedicated to famous visual artists, Balthus the Painter combined with Bill Viola: The Eye of the Heart. Both screenings will be introduced by director Mark Kidel together with curator Walter Rovere.
