An exhibition to rediscover the talent of Pietro Poppi (1833 - 1914), pioneer of photography and the owner of "Fotografia dell'Emilia", one of the most important photography atelier in Italy.

Genus Bononiae Musei nella Città, with the support of Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna, dedicates an interesting exhibition to his photographic production, showing for the first time two photo albums made by the artist in order to anthologize his production that were preserved in a private collection.

   

The exhibit features more than 100 pieces, including photo stamps, negative plates, printings and vintage camera equipments.
The exhibition combines the more famous pictures of Bolognese and Emilian architecture and urban views and images of rural subjects, such as flowers, landscapes, clouds.
