MAMbo – Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna
18 December  2015 – 28 March 2016

Officina Pasolini: an exhibition dedicated to the poetic, aesthetic, and cultural universe of Pier Paolo Pasolini, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of his death occurred on November 2nd, 1975. At MAMbo – Bologna Modern Art Museum, from December 18th, 2015 to March 28th, 2016.
The exhibit is promoted by Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna, in collaboration with Istituzione Bologna Musei | MAMbo – Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna and Scuola di Lettere e Beni Culturali dell'Università di Bologna.

From the years of his education to Salò and Petrolio; from the archaic myths to the attack of modernity. Officina Pasolini is a polyphonic exhibition featuring Pasolini’s work in a space transformed into the nave of a Romanesque cathedral, where the life and the works of this artist - capable of crossing the borders of literature, painting, photography, cinema – are linked together.

Each area features photos, films, paintings and drawings, film excerpts, shots from theatre performances, audio-visual documents, original screenplays, scene costumes.

Pier Paolo Pasolini
The exhibition represents an important event among the manifold initiatives organized both in Italy and in the world to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s death.
It underlines the central role of Bologna in the story of one of the 20th century greatest artists. Pasolini was born in Bologna on March 5th, 1922 and there he had his education, first attending the high-school Liceo Classico Galvani, and then the Facoltà di Lettere (liberal-arts college) at the Bologna Università.
Officina Pasolini is part of the wider project "Più moderno di ogni moderno. Pasolini a Bologna" - promoted by Comune di Bologna, which is going to propose many initiatives concerning Pasolini’s personality and work, until March 2016.

In the programme also a wide retrospective at Cinema Lumière - Cineteca di Bologna, as well as conferences at Biblioteca dell’Archiginnasio and at Biblioteca Renzo Renzi della Cineteca di Bologna.
