Nero Sulcis, minatori e paesaggi minerari

30 May  - 15 July 2015

Museo del Patrimonio Industriale

The exhibition is divided into two sections and looks into the individuals, the places of mines and the environmental and landscape impact generated by mining.

  • The first section presents the portraits of miners in the coal mine of Carbosulcis in Nuraxi Figus, in the province of Carbonia Iglesias, in Sardinia.
  • The second section explores in a new way today's mining sites in Iglesias, many of which are no more usable but of great historical and archaeological value.

The exhibit ends with a video section, where it is possible to see a large format projection of the whole work by Adriano Mauri, with the musical base by the rapper Alessandro Sanna (Quilo). Inside this section, Marco Delogu, photographer and new director of the Istituto italiano di cultura di Londra, takes part with his critical contribution.
