The colours, the perfumes and the uniqueness of mortadella, the typical Bologna cold-cut, will be invading the historical centre of Bologna – mainly Piazza Maggiore and Piazza Re Enzo, from October 20th to 23rd. It’s the fourth edition of MortadellaBò, the event fully dedicated to one of the most famous symbols of Bologna gastronomic tradition.
Four days of savour, culture, passion, amusement, and a rich calendar of events whose absolute protagonist will be Mortadella Bologna IGP. MartadellaBò pays homage to the “Queen of cold cuts” with many initiatives such as the “Ristorante in rosa” (the pink restaurant) where 8 famous chefs – 4 coming from the region and 4 from the rest of Italy, will challenge each other in preparing both traditional and innovative dishes using Mortadella Bologna IGP.Street food proposals from all over Italy will join Italian Regional cuisine with Mortadella Bologna IGP. During MortadellaBò, in the main streets of the city centre, four food-bikes decorated in “mortadella’s style” will distribute the classic “Rosetta” bread filled with Mortadella. And for those who wants to come back home with a delicious “souvenir”, the Mortadellotecawill propose Mortadella Bologna in all shapes and for all tastes. The public will also have the opportunity to enjoy a rich programme of activities, involving both the Consortium and the partners. “Il laboratorio” is an equipped space where some guest chefs are going to take lessons of 40 minutes each for 8/10 participants. The Tasting tableis dedicated to those who want to improve his culinary ability, combining Mortadella Bologna IGP with the best of beers and wines.
