The work of surrealism master Joan Miró will be in Bologna in the elegant salons of Palazzo Albergati, from April 11 to September 17, 2017.
The painter, sculptor and ceramist Joan Miró—one of the most significant Spanish artists of all time—is revealed in the exhibition MIRÓ! Sogno e colore (dream and colour), that features over 130 of the artist’s oil paintings, drawings and sculptures.
Some exceptional works, on loan from Pilar and Joan Mirò Foundation in Majorca, are the focal points of this exhibition, which is produced and organized by Arthemisia, with the support of the Municipality of Bologna. The exhibition MIRÓ! Sogno e colore depicts the transgressive, nonconformist and untamed side of the artist, as well as his more contemplative and poetic side. Mirò created a universal, unique and personal language in order to escape from the banal and the conventional. Here’s what you’ll see at Palazzo Albergati from April to September: Mirò's inner world, his unique thought, his strong connection to roots and identity, and yet, his constant search for the new.
