Bologna
The upper Quadriloggiato of Biblioteca dell'Archiginnasio hosts "I caratteri di Francesco Griffo" (Francesco Griffo's typefaces) from 15 December 2017 to 18 February 2018. The exhibition is dedicated to the Bologna master of ars artificialiter scribendi, on the 500th anniversary of the printing in 1517 in Bologna, of the last known edition by Francesco Griffo, who was the protagonist together with Aldo Manuzio of the extraordinary invention of the italic type. The exhibition "I caratteri di Francesco Griffo" is organized by Biblioteca dell'Archiginnasio in collaboration with Archivio di Stato di Bologna, and is curated by Pierangelo Bellettini, Rita De Tata and Anna Manfron, as part of the project Griffo, la grande festa delle lettere.
