Bologna
Dedicated to the cartoon depicting the masterpiece by Pablo Picasso, that ispired the tapestry was exposed at the entrance to the UN Security Council room, the exhibition is an extraordinary opportunity to experience the exciting iconography of the great painting, which was painted pictorially almost in the same scale to transpose it in tapestry in 1955. The exhibition concept starts from a long research made by the art historian Serena Baccaglini who, in the course of her studies dedicated to the great Spanish artist, discovered an exceptional collaboration with three - the result of an equally exceptional friendship - between Pablo Picasso, Nelson Rockefeller , one of the greatest patrons of the twentieth century, and the artist Jacqueline de la Baume Dürrbach, who recreated the Guernica painting using the ancient art of weaving.
