Exhibition project at Museo Davia Bargellini
22 January - 10 April 2016

Surprising tensions and bizarre visual balances are the core of Andrea Salvatori‘s exhibition project - Gli specchi dovrebbero pensare più a lungo prima di riflettere. It is conceived as an eclectic dialogue with the collections of Museo Civico d'Arte Industriale e Galleria Davia Bargellini, being the museum included among the locations of  ART CITY Bologna for the first time this year.

Andrea Salvatori playfully compares his works with the two sections of the museum collections – the collections of applied arts and the picture gallery once belonging to the Bargellini senatorial family. In this exhibition, he translates the main aspects of his art: the manipulation of elements, which are far one from the other, and the perceptual gap created by their formal and semantic collision. The exhibition is open from January  22nd to April 10th, 2016.

Art City Bologna 2016

ART CITY Bologna is the institutional programme of events born in 2013 as the result of the collaboration between Comune di Bologna and BolognaFiere. Its goal is to create a calendar of side events, exhibitions and cultural initiatives during Arte Fiera, in order to propose new ways for rediscovering the historical and artistic heritage of Bologna through contemporary artists' works. At its 4th edition this year, Art City takes place from January 29th to 31st 2016. Full programme of events is available on the website www.bolognagendacultura.it.

Gli specchi dovrebbe pensare più a lungo prima di riflettere is curated by Sabrina Samorì and Silvia Battistini, and promoted by Istituzione Bologna Musei. The Istituzione Bologna Musei is supported by Regione Emilia Romagna, Città Metropolitana di Bologna, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna, Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna.
