In the year of Expo 2015 in Milan, Genus Bononiae. Musei nella Città organizes an exhibition dedicated to another important international event, the Emilian Exposition in Bologna which opened on May 6th, 1888 in the presence of the royal family and in coincidence with the celebration for the 8th centenary of the University and with the  Vittorio Emanuele statue inauguration.
 
At the Art and History Library of  San Giorgio in Poggiale  the exhibit "Expo Bologna 1888. L’Esposizione Emiliana nei documenti delle Collezioni d’Arte e di Storia della Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna" (Expo Bologna 1888. The Emilian exposition in the documents of Collezioni d’Arte e di Storia della Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna) presents over 150 pieces among period documents, original letters and publications, posters, engravings and drawings coming from the Art and History collections of Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna, mainly from Fondo Brighetti.
On show also the photos by Pietro Poppi, one of the official photographers of the Exposition whose images were used by the artists of the period for the engravings to be printed in the manifold magazines published on that occasion.
 
The exhibition is also enriched with three conversations/performances (in Italian) - Lanterne Magiche   (8 and 22 April  + 6 May, at 6pm), curated by Emanuela Marcante and Daniele Tonini de Il Ruggiero, and dedicated to the visual and musical documentation concerning the Bologna 1888 Exposition.
