From February 24 to June 25, 2017, Palazzo Fava. Palazzo delle Esposizioni will host the exhibition "Costruire il Novecento. Capolavori della Collezione Giovanardi"(Reconstructing the twentieth century: the Giovanardi Collection masterpieces): ninety works painted by the most significant Italian artists who were active between the two World Wars.
The exhibition was curated by Silvia Evangelisti, who laid it out in three main sections: the first showcases the paintings of Morandi and Licini and illustrates their controversial relationship; the second includes important paintings by Carlo Carrà, Filippo De Pisis, Massimo Campigli and Mario Sironi. They illustrate the important role and connection between painting and architecture during that historical period. Finally, the third section displays works by several Italian artists: Mario Mafai, Ottone Rosai, Arturo Tosi, Pio Semeghini.
