Orchestra Senzaspine di Bologna and Associazione Organi Antichi play together the great masterpieces by Respighi, Bach and Bossi
Basilica di Santa Maria dei Servi BOLOGNA SATURDAY 19 NOVEMBER, at 4pm
TRIBUTE TO OTTORINO RESPIGHI BY ORCHESTRA SENZASPINE AND ASSOCIAZIONE ORGANI ANTICHI
The organist and artistic director of the festival, Andrea Macinanti, the oboist Marino Bedetti and the orchestra Senzaspine alternate execution of a program dedicated primarily to the figure of Ottorino Respighi, in the 80th anniversary of the death and they pay homage to the Basilica and its precious pipe-organ Tamburini.
Johann Sebastian Bach was obviously a preferred model for Respighi. Two masterpieces connect Respighi to him in this concert: the first one, the Passacaglia in C minor BWV 582; the second a refined concert for oboe d'amore and orchestra, originally written for harpsichord around 1738, but performed by oboists in a version for their instrument.
The concert will close with the powerful Concerto in A minor, Op. 100 by Marco Enrico Bossi, one of the masterpieces of the twentieth century music.
The concert with FREE ADMISSION takes place concurrently with the opening of the " Fiera di Santa Lucia", a Christmas market located along the arcades of Servi.
