16 September 2014 - 12 April 2015

To introduce and then contemporary with the exhibition "Giovanni da Modena. Un pittore all'ombra di San Petronio" scheduled for December 2014, the Museo Civico Medievale exhibits some of his best works in the area related to illuminated Manuscripts. Among them, there is the prestigious collection “Corali della Chiesa di San Francesco” where the painter from Modena worked.

Visitors will also have the chance to admire the “Statuti le Matricole delle Società d'Arte” and other manuscripts dating back to the same period, as well as illuminated works by Nicolò di Giacomo and Stefano degli Azzi, two important figures in the portrayal of miniatures during the second half of the 14th century.
