Bologna
On the occasion of the Day of Remembrance 2018, Museo Ebraico di Bologna (the Jewish Museum of Bologna) presents an exhibition on Arpad Weisz, the Hungarian Jewish coach who from 1935 to 1938 led the Bologna soccer team to win twice in a row the Scudetto and the prestigious Tournament Cup of the Paris Exposition in 1937. The evocative illustrated tables taken from the volume by Matteo Matteucci, Arpad Weisz and Littoriale (Bologna, Minerva 2017) tell the story of football and history in Bologna between the Twenties and Thirties: from the inauguration of the Stadium in 1926, with the presence of Mussolini , to the years in which the team of Bologna "that tremble the world does", at the time winning in Italy and in Europe, is led by the Hungarian Arpad Weisz. Besides Matteucci's tables, the exhibition also features photographs, films and unpublished documents, objects and memorabilia linked to Weisz and his family, to Bologna Calcio and some of its protagonists of the time.
