San Michele in Bosco - Forte Bandiera

This is the first route of bolognese hills, thanks to the work of the Consulta per l'Escursionismo. The route is approximately 4 km long with a vertical drop of 250 m. The route connects the park of San Michele in Bosco with the Fort Bandiera, dating back to the valleys of the river Aposa and cutting the slopes of Monte San Vittore and the hill of Barbiano. From the Garden Remo Scoto in via Codivilla, you enter the park of San Michele in Bosco. Through the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute you can reach via San Vittore and continue until the junction with Via Barbiano and Forte Bandiera (300 m).

Imposing architectural complex which includes the church and the adjacent former convent of the olivetans, one of the greatest and the nicest in Italy. It stands on one of the most panoramic places of the surrounding hills of Bologna and its parvis offers a wonderful view of the city and of the plane till the Alps chain.

Located in the Rizzoli hospital's property, on the south side (of the lower level), across the street Codivilla,  the garden Remo Scoto, is part of the park of  San Michele in Bosco.

Torrente Aposa

Torrente Aposa

It is the only natural river in Bologna. It originates in the hills and empties into canale Navile. Torrente Aposa is 7500 meters long.

Monte S.Vittore

Monte S.Vittore

Mount S.Vittore,  283,30 meter high, in via San Vittore. Part of CAI forest track n.902. On the mount is the “Cenobio of San Vittore”,a very ancient monastery.

Colle di Barbiano

Colle di Barbiano is placed in a panoramic and isolated location but very close to Bologna city center. Near the intersection of San Vittore, which leads to Mount S.Vittore. Part of CAI forest track n.902.


Parco di Forte Bandiera

The park has been gradually acquired by the municipality during the '60s and '70s. Today it covers an area of 16 hectares.
